The Big Event

All right ladies, we want to hear from you! We had a super great time on Monday night at the Ignite kick-off event and if you were there, we would love to find out what it meant to you.
Please share with us in your comments your thoughts about the following questions:
What really spoke to your heart Monday night?
Did you have an expectation when you came to the event that was met or unmet?
Do you attend The Creek or are you a sister in Christ from another church?
What do you hope to learn or gain from this semester's topic of "Radical Authenticity?"
Or, share something not listed above ~ whatever you like!
Can't wait to hear from you!

  1. Hello! My name is Julie Ramsey. I attended last night's Ignite session. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect either. The buddy system worked great for me! My sister-in-law, Lindsey, and good friend, Alysa, attended too. Lindsey and I (along with our families) are members of The Creek but haven't really got involved. This was a great excuse! We were a couple minutes late arriving and you girls were great about getting chairs for us and made us feel very welcome. I'm really excited to get to know one another too. Plus, I loved all the girlie pink stationary and slides! Gosh, what spoke to my heart the most? I think it was a song that talked about looking at the world through Jesus' eyes. What if I could think about Jesus before I ever opened my mouth? Then, the drama was great! The world puts so much emphasis on looks and worldly monetary things! If we could devote as much time to Jesus as we do our looks and our things - what great things we could do for the Lord! If I could learn to not be so eager to judge someone, but to think about what their perspective may be. (Sometimes I have a tendency to think my way is the best way! Hey, I'm the oldest of my siblings, what can I say?) It was great and I can't wait until we dig deeper into this subject! The idea of taking off our masks is quite honestly a little scary - but I can't wait to do it! I had a great time and felt the Lord talking directly to my heart!Julie Ramsey

  2. Good Morning Ladies, It was great meeting all of you as well! I thoroughly enjoyed the Ignite kick-off event and looking forward to the future events. As Julie and Lori mentioned I did not know what to expect either, but I felt in my heart that GOD wanted me to be at this event! I have longed to become closer to God and to become more involved with Indian Creek but something has always held me back. I have decided that it is time I grow to love God more, to become a better wife, friend and mother! I have been attending Indian Creek off and on for the past ten years and have yet to become a member, which I have decided is time as well and plan on attending the next "Foundation" workshop!! I want to thank the AWESOME "Ignite" ladies for putting on this special event and giving me the opportunity to become closer to God and closer to all my Sisters in Christ! What really spoke to my heart is that GOD wants us to be authentic and that we do not need to cover up who we REALLY are on the inside! And that GOD loves us no matter what and that each and everyone of us are beautiful in our own ways! The drama was absolutely heart wrenching as I know personally I tend to be too wrapped up in how I look and materials items; such as clothes, shoes and purses! And I have learned that all these things do not make us happy! GOD is what makes us happy! GOD doesn't care about all that; he cares about what is on the inside and that we are changing to be like him! I am looking forward to meeting with GOD this week! I'll be honest I am terrified, but I know GOD will calm me! And I pray for each and everyone of you beautiful ladies that GOD will bring much JOY to your hearts!! Again, I thank the AWESOME "IGNITE" ladies for such a wonderful event and for bringing us all closer to our GOD and to one another! I look forward to February 9th and spending it with my SISTERS In CHRIST! GOD BLESS, Carrie Selke

  3. To ALL My Beautiful Sisters in CHRIST

I want to tell you just how beautiful each and every one of you are to me. Walking in to your church last night was amazing. I live in Columbus and was invited to attend Ignite with my best friend Carrie. I was really not sure what to expect, and truthfully was a little anxious about attending, but I knew thatGod had called me there last night for a reason. And what a wonderful reason and experience it was for me, a girl from a SMALL church in Columbus. The minute I walked in your door ladies were saying hello and greeting us with open arms. I have never felt some comfortable and welcomed in a place where I did not know a sole as I did last night. I hope to attend Ignite with Carrie again in the near future.

Until we meet again know that I will be praying for all of my new sisters in Christ. I want to share with you a verse that God has put on my heart today. "Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a women who fears the LORD, she shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30

As I look into the mirror for 2 whole minutes this week I pray God will meet me there. And I pray he will do the same for each and every one of you

    God Bless You All

  4. 2 minutes, 2 MINUTES!! you think I can stand still that long? You think I have an extra 2 minutes to spare? Isn't it funny when we want something we want it now and we don't care what the reason is on why we have to wait. While doing my morning breathing treatment I put the machine in front of the mirror and it took only about 20 seconds before the tears began to fall. My vision became blured as the tears would not stop but the message was very clear. I felt as if the tears were washing my mask off, I paniced, I turned away. I can't do this, I can't reveal the truth, not yet not now. More tears, more excuses, somethings never change. I pray for courage and direction in helping me get this mask off. As the week goes by I realize I can go without all the make up, clothes,shoes,...but the stuff you can hide on the inside WOW!

  5. I really enjoyed the program Monday night. I am new to The Creek and I
am trying to find my way in the church and trying to meet new ladies.
The entire program was very well done and I appreciate everyone's
efforts. The music was wonderful and Stephanie's presentation was very
thoughtful. I am looking forward to coming to the next event.

  6. To whomever commented about the 2 minutes... boy I can't even take 30 seconds! Since this week's opening to the semester I had a break down because I've found that this mask I'm wearing isn't very flattering to Jesus or myself. I'm anxious to see how I can drop the mask comfortably and leave the real me showing. I want to learn to humble myself to do so.

Can the next meeting come any faster?!

  8. I've been reading "How to Have a Mary Heart in a Martha World" - the author is referring to Mary pouring the alabaster jar of nard over Jesus. The author then speaks of some of her heros of faith and goes on to say . . .
"If you look, you'll find them all around you. They come in all shapes and sizes, ages and genders. They don't usually stick out in a crowd. Much of the time, their compassionate service is done unnoticed and unseen. But when you get up close, you'll find they have one thing in common. They know how to love - not just in word, but in deed.
That's what set Mary's love apart that day in Bethany. She not only loved Jesus; she did something about it. And what she did and how she did it point toward the secret for more fully loving God and loving people.
Mary loved with her whole heart. She didn't hold anything back. Instead, in sweet abandon, she poured everything she had into showing her love for Jesus."

Just wanted to thank you and your team for showing us YOUR love for Jesus - for pouring your all into getting us better connected with Him!

    Your Sister in Christ,
    Carla

  9. Hello Ladies, My name is Sheila, I also attended the Ignite kick-off night and thought it was Spiritually Electrifying. The worship was even longer and more intense than a Sunday morning service, I needed that. The message was meaningful and to the point, I feel we all should've been able to take the message and apply it to our own lives. I'm sure the Lord was Glorified and hopefully many of us went home with alot to think about.I too am a new member at The Creek(since December 2008) but have been worshipping here since March 2008, so I knew no one there that night. That has been the hardest thing about coming to such a large church, so I'm glad to have so many things offered for us to try and connect.I was very thankful for the childcare provided for my little ones too. They had a great time and I'm sure were watched with great care.I hope to get to know at least 1 person at the table next time at the Ignite meeting, or if I'm really persistant I would love to get a friend to come with me. God Bless all you servants and leaders who put this all together and Thank You for praying for us, I know for me it means everything to know somebody is praying for me.
    In Christ's Love,
    Sheila Cochran
